History
Pharmacy One was established in 1994 and has focused exclusively on providing services to the residential care industry. This focus has allowed us to develop systems and services that are accurate, auditable and customer orientated. Our growth to date and the retention of contracts attests our ability to service our customers efficiently and cost effectively.
In June 2000 we merged our North and South Auckland branches to create the largest dispensary based pharmacy in Auckland. The merger brought a number of advantages to our customers including lowering costs and increasing our ability to provide greater professional services.
The company is owned by Greg Macpherson and Steve Murray. Paul van der Meer, General Manager takes care of the Pharmacy One operation while Jessica Gordon is our Customer Relations Manager. We have a team of 42 including 9 Pharmacists and 12 Pharmacy Technicians.
We have created a number of unique systems to ensure that you receive a pharmacy service that is consistent, that revolves around good communication and is focused on a quality cycle of reviewing processes and incorporating improvements on a regular basis.

"Pharmacy One have been supplying medication to Odyssey House for the past 6 years. Odyssey House has 6 sites around the Auckland/ Manukau area. Our clients have a variety of medication and some very complex.
When we initially commenced the service with Pharmacy One we used blister packs but after a Robot pack trial for 2 months at one of our facilities we have converted to Robot packs for all our sites. We do have registered nurses on some of our sites, but in most cases our staff administer our medication and whilst they have been trained to do this they are not registered nurses therefore it is essential that the service we contracted where very reliable, accurate and readily available for any follow up work. We have found Pharmacy One is very proficient in all these areas.
We have a dedicated Account Manager from Pharmacy One and a dedicated liaison person for staff to contact regarding medications. Both these people are very approachable and are readily available to answer any questions. Odyssey House has different delivery days for each of our sites as this is dependent on Drs / Phys visits. These delivery days are for regular medication and if we need urgent medication or pack add-ons these are done separately. We have also used Pharmacy One out of hours and have found them very quick and reliable to deliver medication as requested. We have had many discussions with Pharmacy One in assisting us with developing suitable documentation.
We would have no hesitation of recommending Pharmacy One as the preferred medication supplier."

"At Bethesda we have used the services of Pharmacy One for several years.
During all of that time we have been fortunate enough to receive a service that not only meets our expectation of high standards of care, but also meet the standards at national and local level.
Over recent months new documentation in regards to Medication Administration has been developed between ourselves and Pharmacy One. This initiative has streamlined the process for us and has been instrumental in the development of good practice throughout the facility.
Deliveries from Pharmacy One are always on time, packaging is distinctive and all documentation is current, legible and appropriate.
Any queries are dealt with promptly and with timely resolution.
Overall the services received by pharmacy are professional, efficient and to a high standard."

"Pharmacy One provide a Pharmacy service to the greater Auckland Area for Idea Services. Medication is packaged in accordance with local agreement and both robotic and blister packaging are used.
Delivery is dependent on area and type of packaging used, robotic(fortnightly delivery) or blister packaging(weekly delivery). Medications are delivered to the Area Offices by the Pharmacy Courier driver.
We rely on Pharmacy One to provide Idea Services with a current Pharmacy Medicine Chart, medication information sheets and signing sheets for all prescribed and over the counter medications purchased at the pharmacy. They also provide ongoing phone support and face to face support when arranged between our support staff and the pharmacy team.
When errors with packaging or documentation occur, Pharmacy One staff are notified immediately. We have generally great support from Pharmacy One staff who resolve issues promptly. In certain cases further input maybe needed and Pharmacy One provides very thorough written feedback.
Communication is further enhanced between Idea Services and Pharmacy One with regular contact from the Customer Relations Manager - Lynka Patience.
Lynka meets with management every couple of months - giving management a real opportunity to share both compliments and concerns."

We have been using Pharmacy One as our Pharmaceutical supplier for approx 6 years. We originally changed because our supplier at the time did not move with the times and was unable to even supply medications in blister packs.
Pharmacy One offered a very innovative service (robotic packs) which they have improved on over the years. They also provide a 24hrs service with on-call pharmacist available for consults.
We have found their operation to be efficient & effective and our Nurse Drug error rate reduced with the new type of packaging.
I can thoroughly recommend their service and we look forward to many more years’ service with them.
